Tod Wurr
Grandmaster and President of Traditional Martial Arts Dimensions (TMAD)

Grandmaster Tod Wurr’s journey into martial arts began in childhood, thanks to supportive parents who introduced him to judo and karate. A chance encounter with Dave Trevena, an Air Force serviceman and Taekwondo instructor, shifted his focus to Taekwondo, sparking a lifelong passion.
Under Dave’s guidance, Grandmaster Wurr gained exposure to various martial arts, including karate, Hapkido, and Aikido. This cross-disciplinary training laid the foundation for his aspiration to become a well-rounded instructor. During his school years, with the encouragement of his headteacher and PE teachers, he began running Taekwondo clubs for his peers – an experience that ignited his passion for teaching.
Throughout his career, he has been privileged to train under some of the martial arts world’s most influential figures, including First Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha and Grandmaster Hee Il Cho, whose teachings deeply shaped his understanding of Taekwondo’s depth and adaptability. His two greatest mentors, Grandmaster Brian Towndrow and Senior Grandmaster Willie Lim, have profoundly influenced his journey, sharing invaluable insights into the practical and philosophical aspects of martial arts. Their guidance continues to inspire his teaching and training.
In addition to these key figures, Grandmaster Wurr has benefited from the wisdom of many other exceptional instructors and peers. Whether running schools, exploring martial arts across the USA, or collaborating with like-minded practitioners around the World, he has consistently sought to blend traditional practices with real-world applications.
Today, Grandmaster Wurr remains dedicated to sharing his passion for martial arts, fostering an inclusive environment where students can develop skills rooted in tradition and honed for modern life.
